When one school holiday ends the next approaches fast. Booking camps seems like a never-ending task for parents in Geneva, especially that the choice is vast! Spell Languages offers camps during all school holidays and I am here to tell you why you should consider their fantastic and camps.

And psst! I have a discount for you.

Camps at Spell Languages are created for families who want school holidays to be joyful and enriching. Children at Spell learn a language, English, German, or French, in an immersive, effortless way during the day, and return home each evening excited full of stories!

NOT LIKE SCHOOL

Spell camps are not language classes and they are not school programmes adapted for holidays. They are immersive experiences built around carefully curated themes that transport children to the world of imagination. These adventurous journeys activate the parts of the brain that make language acquisition natural end most effective!

THE METHOD

What truly sets Spell camps apart is how language is lived rather than taught. English, French, or German is present throughout the day, but never as an academic subject. Forget vocab lists, textbooks, and grammar on a blackboard. Spell classrooms move! They move a lot, there are no black/white boards, and no textbooks. You can read more about their method in my previous article about Spell.

PROMISES

A one-week or even two-week camp will not suddenly move a child to a higher language level, and Spell is very transparent about this. There are no miraculous promises. What happens instead is that children remain in touch with the language. Listening becomes more automatic, speaking feels safer, vocabulary becomes active rather than passive, and confidence grows. The language stays alive rather than fading into the background.

NEXT CAMPS

Each camp week is designed as a complete journey that begins on Monday and unfolds naturally towards Friday finale. This way children have a clear sense of continuity and purpose. For each camp, in addition to daily outings, there is one full-day excursion. Every day includes structured activities and creative workshops.

FEBRUARY

February camps this year are themed around The Chronicles of Narnia.
Younger children (4–6), will explore the world full of animals, winter wonders. They will go on daily quests around Geneva to build skills through stories, sensory experiences, and discoveries!
Older kids will become winter explorers, solving riddles and unlocking new parts of a frozen realm. Acquiring new vocabulary and language confidence in a fun way!

APRIL

Two weeks, two different themes. Check here.

The first week, Planet Earth, focuses on caring for the environment.
Children aged 4–6 explore planting, nature crafts, composting, and water-saving games. Children aged 7–10 take a more hands-on approach with experiments, recycled art, eco-challenges, and a group project to create their own nature documentary.

The second week, Everything Games, is centred on play and creativity.
For ages 4–6, the focus is on imaginative play through scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, role play, and character-based adventures. For ages 7–10, the camp combines board games, storytelling, and invention, encouraging strategic thinking, teamwork, and game design through shared challenges and adventures.

SUMMER

Details are coming soon and I will surely inform you what Spell has planned this time! For now, all I know is that the first week of summer holidays will be all about Geneva, with one of the themes based on my book “ABC Geneva”. Rest assured it will not be boring sightseeing but an adventure crafted to feed kids imagination!
